2. Fowl pox is the worldwide diseases of poultry caused by viruses of the family poxviridae and the genus avipoxvirus. There are two forms of the disease. The first is spread by biting insects and wound contamination and causes lesions on the comb wattles and beak.
3.There is no treatment for fowl pox and prevention is through vaccination of replacement birds. Where preventive vaccination is used, all replacement chicken are vaccinated when the birds are six to ten weeks of age and one application of fowl pox vaccine results permanent immunity.
