1. Fowl pox

2. Fowlpox is a worldwide wiral infection of chickens and turkeys. Nodular lesions on unfeathered skin are common in the cutaneous form. In the diphtheritic from, which affect the upper GIand respiratory tracts, lesions occur from the mouth to the esophagus and on the trachea. Diagnosis is by observing characteristic gross and microscopic lesions and PCR. Vaccination can prevent the disease and limit spread in affected flocks.

3. Chicks may be vaccinated as young as one day of age. During outbreaks, unaffected flocks and individuals may be vaccinated to help limit the spread. If there is evidence of secondary bacterial infection, broad-spectrum antibiotics may help reduce morbidity and mortalities.
