2.Fowl pox is a viral disease .This disease can make to avian in two ways
Skin lesions (dry pox) - scabs and lesions around the comb,wattle,ear and lobes
Wet pox - associated with the oral cavity and larynx ,trachea
This virus spread to chickens by biting insects ,mosquitoes
3.There no treatment to for fowl pox and prevention is through vaccination of replacement birds. Where preventative vaccination is used all replacement chickens are vaccinated when the birds are 6 to 10 weeks of age and one application of fowl pox vaccine results in permanent immunity. Proper injection can prevent this to some extent.
